Print Subscription Cancellation and Refund Complaints
ELLE's FAQ says unpaid subscriptions can be canceled from My Orders by selecting Cancel from the Actions menu. For paid subscriptions, it says customers can email customer service or call 1-800-876-8775. The print FAQ also says customers may cancel online after logging in or write "cancel" on an invoice, and that a refund will be issued for remaining copies that have not been mailed at the time of cancellation.
Use this table:
| Print issue |
Complaint focus |
| Need to cancel paid subscription |
Ask for cancellation confirmation |
| Need to cancel unpaid order |
Use My Orders cancellation action |
| Need refund for unmailed copies |
Provide cancellation date and account number |
| Bills after cancellation |
Ask whether account status has updated |
| Agency subscription |
Direct refund request to the agent |
| Duplicate subscription |
Provide both mailing labels |
| Gift subscription issue |
Provide purchaser and recipient details |
Ask customer service to confirm account status, paid-through issue, refund status, and whether future renewal is stopped.
Missed, Damaged, and Duplicate Issue Complaints
ELLE's membership page says the first print issue usually arrives in 4-8 weeks. The print FAQ says first issues generally arrive 4 to 6 weeks after order receipt, while delivery outside the United States can take an additional two weeks. It also says missed or damaged issues can be reported online and the subscription will be extended to compensate.
Use this table:
| Delivery issue |
Evidence |
| First issue not arrived |
Order date and subscription type |
| Missed issue |
Issue month and mailing address |
| Damaged issue |
Issue month and damage details |
| Duplicate issues |
Account labels and mailing addresses |
| Address change problem |
Old and new address |
| International delivery delay |
Country and issue month |
Ask whether the subscription will be extended, corrected, consolidated, or credited.
All Access, Digital Editions, and Storefront Complaints
ELLE's membership page says All Access includes a one-year print magazine subscription, instant access to the digital version through the app, unlimited access to ELLE.com, and member-only benefits. It also says non-All Access readers can enjoy 4 free articles per month on ELLE.com. The FAQ says digital editions are sold through App Store, Google Play, NOOK, Kindle, and Zinio.
Use this table:
| Digital or membership issue |
Route |
| All Access billing |
membersupport@elle.com |
| ELLE.com access blocked |
Membership support |
| Digital magazine app access |
Member support or original storefront |
| App Store subscription |
Apple subscriptions/refunds |
| Google Play subscription |
Google Play support |
| NOOK, Kindle, or Zinio purchase |
Original storefront support |
| Free article limit dispute |
Account screenshot and article URLs |
If a storefront billed the subscription, send billing and refund questions to that storefront first.
Store Purchases and Merchandise Complaints
ELLE shop and product support are different from magazine subscription support. The shop customer service guidance says product support and membership support are separate, and store order returns depend on the product type and policy.
Use this table:
| Store issue |
What to include |
| Product return |
Order number and shipment date |
| Damaged product |
Photos and order number |
| Digital product issue |
Product title and account email |
| Shipping/tracking problem |
Tracking and address |
| Order cancellation |
Order number and status |
| Refund timing |
Refund approval and payment method |
Do not send store order problems to the print subscription mailbox unless support directs you there.
Privacy and Data Requests
ELLE is part of Hearst, so privacy requests should use Hearst's privacy route rather than ordinary subscription support unless a billing complaint still needs evidence.
Use this table:
| Request |
What to include |
| Access request |
Account email and request scope |
| Deletion request |
Account email and active subscription status |
| Correction request |
Current and corrected details |
| Marketing opt-out |
Email or mailing address |
| Account security concern |
Date noticed and suspicious activity |
| Store privacy issue |
Store order email and order number |
If a billing or delivery complaint is open, save receipts, mailing labels, and support messages before requesting deletion.
