Asana subscriptions are usually canceled or downgraded by a billing owner or administrator from the Admin Console. The right path depends on whether the plan was purchased directly from Asana, through an online self-serve order, through a sales Order Form, through a channel partner, or through a mobile app store.

Asana's current pricing page lists Personal as free, Starter at $10.99 per user per month billed annually or $13.49 billed monthly, and Advanced at $24.99 per user per month billed annually or $30.49 billed monthly. Enterprise and Enterprise+ require sales pricing. If your team has unused seats, add-ons, or a sales agreement, review those details before canceling so you know what will stop and when.

Step-by-Step: How to Cancel Asana

1 Confirm who bills the plan

Check the receipt, invoice, Order Form, app-store subscription list, channel partner invoice, or Asana Admin Console.

2 Sign in as the billing owner or admin

Use the Asana account that has billing permissions for the workspace, team, or organization.

3 Open the Admin Console

Click your profile photo or organization controls, open Admin Console, and go to Billing.

4 Review plan, seats, and renewal date

Check the current plan, billing cycle, renewal date, paid seats, add-ons, and whether the plan is self-serve or contract based.

5 Cancel, downgrade, or stop trial conversion

Choose Cancel Plan, Cancel Trial, Downgrade, or the billing change available for your account. Complete every confirmation step.

6 Save confirmation and export data

Save the cancellation screen, renewal or expiration date, support case, invoice, and any workspace export you need before account deactivation.

Cancel a Self-Serve Asana Plan

For most online Starter or Advanced plans:

  1. Sign in to Asana.
  2. Open the Admin Console.
  3. Select Billing.
  4. Review the current plan, renewal date, seat count, and payment method.
  5. Choose Cancel Plan or downgrade if that option is available.
  6. Follow the confirmation steps.
  7. Save the confirmation and the date the change takes effect.

If the plan is attached to a team inside a larger organization, make sure you are canceling the correct team or workspace. A person can belong to multiple Asana workspaces, and the billing owner may be different for each one.

Cancel an Asana Trial

If the workspace is still in a trial, cancel before it converts to a paid plan. Use the Admin Console and Billing area to cancel the trial or stop the paid conversion.

Asana will reflect the reduction or downgrade on the Renewal Date if applicable.

Enterprise and Enterprise+ customers may be governed by a sales Order Form rather than only the self-serve billing page. Asana's Subscriber Terms say subscriptions auto-renew at the end of the current Subscription Term unless a party gives notice of non-renewal at least 30 days before the Renewal Date, unless the Order Form says otherwise.

Channel partner purchases can be different. Asana's terms say that if a subscription was acquired through an authorized distributor, reseller, or digital marketplace, warranty, refund, or service-credit claims must be submitted to the channel partner, and the partner is responsible for issuing refunds or service credits.

For contract or partner accounts, gather:

  • Order Form

  • notice email or support case
  • written confirmation that non-renewal was accepted

Apple, Google Play, and Mobile Billing

Most Asana team billing is managed on the web, but if Apple or Google Play appears on the receipt, cancel through that app store.
