How to Cancel iCloud Storage Subscription

This is the main hub for all your device settings. Just tap the little gear icon on your home screen.

Your name and profile picture should be right at the very top. Tap on it to get into your Apple ID settings.

Look for the 'iCloud' option, it usually has a little cloud icon next to it. This is where the magic happens.

Under the storage bar graph, you'll see Manage Account Storage. Sometimes this screen takes a second to load, so be patient. I had to wait a few seconds for it to become tappable.

This is the button you're looking for. It will show you your current plan and other options.

Now, tap Downgrade Options. You'll probably have to enter your Apple ID password here. It's a bit of a hassle, but it's for security.

Select the Free 5GB Plan to cancel your paid subscription. Then just tap Done. Your plan will officially downgrade after your current billing cycle ends.

Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen and choose System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions).

Just like on iPhone, click your name and profile picture at the top of the sidebar to access your account settings.

Find and click on iCloud in the list of apps and services.

Next to the storage bar, click the Manage... button. This button can feel a little slow to respond sometimes, which is annoying.

In the top right of the window that pops up, click Change Storage Plan....

A small button in the bottom-left corner, Downgrade Options..., is what you need to click. Apple doesn't make it obvious.

You might be asked for your password. After that, select the checkbox for the 5GB Free plan and click Done. You're all set.

First, you need the iCloud for Windows app installed. If you don't have it, you'll need to download it from the Microsoft Store.

In the iCloud app window, you'll see your storage information. Click the Storage button right next to the graph.

This will open another window showing your current plan. Click the Change Storage Plan... button.

Now you'll see the familiar options. Click on Downgrade Options.

Enter your Apple ID password when prompted. It's a required step.

Choose the 5GB Free plan from the list and click Done. That's it. Your subscription is set to cancel.
