Refund Rules After Cancellation

Prime Video, Channels, and Add-Ons
Canceling Prime can affect Prime Video access, but Prime Video-related charges are not always the same membership.

Third-Party and Google Play Prime Billing
Amazon's cancellation help says users who signed up for Amazon Prime through Google Play on Android should cancel through Google Subscription services. It also says that if Prime is associated with another company's service, the user should contact that company to cancel Prime.
Use this checklist:
- Search email for Amazon Prime, Google Play, Prime membership, phone bundle, internet bundle, and partner receipts.
- Check Amazon Memberships & Subscriptions.
- Check Google Play subscriptions if the Android app was involved.
- Check the partner account if Prime came with another service.

FTC Prime Settlement Notices
Some U.S. Prime customers may see separate FTC settlement communications in 2026. The FTC says Amazon sent automatic refunds to eligible Prime customers in November and December 2025, began sending claim notices in January 2026, and that eligible refunds are for Prime subscription fees up to a maximum of $51.
