Apple, Google Play, Roku, and Amazon
If the subscription was purchased through a platform, Acorn TV directs users to manage the membership through that platform.
| Platform |
Cancellation path |
| Apple App Store |
Apple ID > Subscriptions > Acorn TV > Cancel |
| Google Play |
Google Play account > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Acorn TV > Cancel |
| Roku |
https://my.roku.com/account/subscriptions or Roku device subscription management |
| Amazon Fire TV |
Amazon appstore or memberships/subscriptions area |
| Amazon Prime Video Channels |
Amazon Prime Video channel settings |
If Acorn TV does not appear in the platform list, check another household account. Streaming subscriptions are often tied to the Apple ID, Google account, Roku account, or Amazon account used at signup rather than the email used to watch.
Samsung, Cable, Comcast/Xfinity, TELUS, and Other Providers
Acorn TV's account management help says third-party platforms such as Roku, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Prime, Comcast/Xfinity, or TELUS must be managed through their dedicated platforms. The cancellation guide also includes Samsung and cable subscription routes.
Use this checklist:
- identify the provider on the receipt or statement
- sign in to that provider account
- open subscriptions, memberships, channels, or add-ons
- select Acorn TV
- cancel renewal
- save the provider confirmation
If a cable or TV provider bills the add-on, Acorn TV support may not be able to cancel it from the Acorn TV website. Use the provider's account page or support channel.
Refunds and Access After Cancellation
Acorn TV's Terms say cancellation can be done at any time and access continues through the remainder of the current paid subscription term. The Terms also say AMC does not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, partial subscription periods, or unwatched content unless required by law.
What this means:
| Situation |
Expected result |
| Cancel during a paid month or year |
Access continues through the current term |
| Cancel before a free trial or gift period ends |
No charge to the billing account under the Terms |
| Cancel after renewal |
No partial refund unless required by law or platform policy |
| Apple, Google, Roku, or Amazon billing |
Platform refund rules apply |
| UK, Austria, or Brazil statutory cooling-off rights |
Terms describe specific statutory cancellation periods for eligible users |
For users in Austria or the United Kingdom, the Terms describe a 14-day purchase cancellation right. For users in Brazil, the Terms describe a 7-day purchase cancellation right. Those statutory rights depend on location and timing; otherwise, use the no-refund rule as the default expectation.
Gift Memberships and Free Trials
Acorn TV's Terms mention free trials and gift membership periods. If you cancel before the end of a free trial or gift membership period, the Terms say there will be no charges to the billing account.

| Statement screenshot |
Shows date, amount, and descriptor |
| Platform receipt |

Shows whether access should continue or billing should stop |
If the charge is on a credit card and appears to be a billing error after a timely cancellation, the FTC says written billing-error notices generally must reach the card issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent. Contact the billing platform first and keep the card issuer deadline in mind.
What to Say When You Cancel
Use this script:
"Please cancel my Acorn TV subscription and stop future renewal. My account email is [email], the billing platform is [Acorn.tv/Apple/Google/Roku/Amazon/Samsung/cable/TELUS/unknown], and the current renewal or term end date is [date]. Please confirm cancellation, final access date, and whether any active Acorn TV subscription remains under this account or platform."
Useful follow-up questions:
- "Where did this Acorn TV membership originate?"
- "Is the account billed by Acorn.tv or a third-party platform?"
- "What is the current subscription term end date?"
- "Will access continue through the current paid term?"
- "Are refunds or credits unavailable under the Terms for this situation?"
- "Which provider should handle a billing correction?"
