Cancel in the Albert App
Use this route when you can sign in.
- Open Albert.
- Tap Profile.
- Open Menu.
- Select Payments.
- Open Help Center.
- Choose Deactivate or close my accounts.
- Follow the prompts and review balance requirements.
- Save the confirmation that the subscription is canceled or the account is deactivated.
Albert's Help Center says deactivating the account cancels the Albert subscription, keeps login details active, and allows the user to reactivate later. Permanent closure closes all Albert accounts. Choose the option that matches what you need.
Cancel from a Browser
Albert's deactivation article also points users to https://albert.com/deactivate.
Use the browser route if:
| Situation |
Why browser may help |
| App access is unreliable |
You can try the web form |
| You changed phones |
You can use the account email or phone |
| You want a saved page record |
Browser screenshots are easy to keep |
| Support asked you to use the link |
It ties the request to Albert's deactivation flow |
If the browser flow does not work, contact Albert support and ask them to confirm the subscription status in writing.

Refunds and No-Refund Subscription Rule
Albert's Genius refund article says Albert does not offer refunds for monthly Albert subscriptions. It also says pausing Smart money does not pause Albert subscription payments.
What this means:
| Situation |
Practical result |
| You deactivate before the next billing date |
Ask for confirmation that future billing stopped |
| You were charged before deactivation |
Monthly subscription charges are usually not refunded under Albert's Help Center policy |
| You paused Smart money only |
Billing may continue |
| You still owe Instant or loan repayment |
Deactivation does not remove the balance |
| You have Cash, Savings, or Investing balances |
Albert may require accounts to be zeroed before closure |
If you believe a charge is incorrect, ask for a written decision with the plan name, charge date, amount, and deactivation date.
Cash, Savings, Investing, Instant, and Loans
Account deactivation is not just a button if other Albert financial products are active.
| Product |
What to check before deactivation |
| Albert Cash |
Card transactions, account balance, pending deposits, pending transfers |
| Savings |
Balance that may need to be moved out |
| Investing |
Balance, pending trades, transfer timing |
| Instant |
Outstanding advance, draw fee, due date, autopay |
| Loan |
Balance owed, autopay, due date |
| Family |
Family members tied to the subscription |
Albert says automatic payments may continue for balances owed if autopay is on. Save repayment status before deactivation so subscription cancellation is not confused with debt repayment.

If Albert Charges You After Cancellation
Prepare:
| Evidence |
Why it matters |
| Deactivation confirmation |
Shows timing |
| Plan screenshot |
Shows Standard, Genius, or Family |
| Charge date and amount |
Identifies the billing cycle |
| Account email or phone |
Helps support locate the account |
| Support transcript |
Shows prior request history |
| Instant or loan balance |
Explains non-subscription payments |
Ask Albert which product generated the charge. A subscription charge, Instant repayment, loan repayment, Cash account transaction, or card transaction can look similar on a statement but follow different support rules.
If a credit card charge still appears to be a billing error after merchant review, the FTC says written billing-error notices generally must reach the card issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent. For Albert Cash card or account errors, follow Albert's Cash Account Agreement timing and support route.
What to Say When You Cancel
Use this script:
"Please deactivate my Albert account and cancel my Albert subscription. My account email or phone is [email/phone]. My current plan appears to be [Standard/Genius/Family], and my next billing date appears to be [date]. Please confirm that future subscription payments are stopped, explain whether any Cash, Savings, Investing, Instant, or loan balance must be handled first, and send written confirmation of the final status."
For a charge after cancellation, add:
"I deactivated or requested cancellation on [date]. A charge for [amount] posted on [date]. Please confirm which Albert product generated this charge and whether any refund, correction, or account-action step applies."
