Albert cancellation is tied to account deactivation. Albert's Help Center says fee payments automatically renew until deactivated, and that users can deactivate or close an account from the app by going to Profile > Menu > Payments > Help Center > Deactivate or close my accounts. Albert also offers a browser deactivation route at albert.com/deactivate.

Before canceling, check what you actually have: Standard, Genius, Family, Albert Cash, Savings, Investing, Instant, or a loan. Albert says deactivation cancels the Albert subscription, but it does not remove advance or loan balances owed. Accounts included with the subscription may also need to be zeroed out before deactivation or closure.

Best Albert Cancellation Routes

What you need to do Where to start What to save
Cancel Standard, Genius, or Family Albert app deactivation flow Deactivation confirmation and last billing date
Cancel through browser https://albert.com/deactivate Confirmation email or screenshot
Check current plan and pricing Profile > Menu > Payments Plan name, monthly price, renewal date
Close account permanently Deactivate or close my accounts flow Closure confirmation and balance status
Albert Cash or card issue Text 639-37, call 844-891-9309, or email support@albert.com Transaction record and support response
Instant or loan balance Borrow/Instant/loan screens and support Balance, due date, autopay status
Refund request Albert support Charge date, amount, plan, written decision

Do not assume that deleting the app, pausing Smart money, or clearing notifications stops billing. Use deactivation or account closure and save confirmation.

Step-by-Step: How to Cancel Albert

1 Open the Albert app

Sign in to the Albert account that is being billed and confirm the account email or phone number.

2 Review the plan

Go to Profile > Menu > Payments and check whether the plan is Standard, Genius, or Family. Save the current price and renewal date.

3 Start deactivation

Go to Profile > Menu > Payments > Help Center > Deactivate or close my accounts. You can also use https://albert.com/deactivate in a browser.

4 Check balances

Review Albert Cash, Savings, Investing, Instant, and loan balances. Albert says included accounts may need to be zeroed out before deactivation or closure.

5 Confirm subscription cancellation

Complete deactivation or closure and ask Albert to confirm that future subscription payments have stopped.

6 Save proof

Save the confirmation screen, support message, billing date, plan name, and any remaining advance or loan balance details.

7 Review the next statement

If another Albert charge posts, contact support with the confirmation, charge date, amount, and account email or phone.

Cancel in the Albert App

Use this route when you can sign in.

  1. Open Albert.
  2. Tap Profile.
  3. Open Menu.
  4. Select Payments.
  5. Open Help Center.
  6. Choose Deactivate or close my accounts.
  7. Follow the prompts and review balance requirements.
  8. Save the confirmation that the subscription is canceled or the account is deactivated.

Albert's Help Center says deactivating the account cancels the Albert subscription, keeps login details active, and allows the user to reactivate later. Permanent closure closes all Albert accounts. Choose the option that matches what you need.

Cancel from a Browser

Albert's deactivation article also points users to https://albert.com/deactivate.

Use the browser route if:

Situation Why browser may help
App access is unreliable You can try the web form
You changed phones You can use the account email or phone
You want a saved page record Browser screenshots are easy to keep
Support asked you to use the link It ties the request to Albert's deactivation flow

If the browser flow does not work, contact Albert support and ask them to confirm the subscription status in writing.

What Albert Costs Now

Albert's Help Center currently lists:

Plan Current Help Center price Notes
Standard $19.99/month Includes listed subscription benefits
Genius $39.99/month Includes Genius plus Standard benefits
Family $39.99/month Includes up to four family members

Check your own Payments page before canceling because current pricing, trials, discounts, or bundled features can differ by account. Save a screenshot before and after deactivation.

Refunds and No-Refund Subscription Rule

Albert's Genius refund article says Albert does not offer refunds for monthly Albert subscriptions. It also says pausing Smart money does not pause Albert subscription payments.

What this means:

Situation Practical result
You deactivate before the next billing date Ask for confirmation that future billing stopped
You were charged before deactivation Monthly subscription charges are usually not refunded under Albert's Help Center policy
You paused Smart money only Billing may continue
You still owe Instant or loan repayment Deactivation does not remove the balance
You have Cash, Savings, or Investing balances Albert may require accounts to be zeroed before closure

If you believe a charge is incorrect, ask for a written decision with the plan name, charge date, amount, and deactivation date.

Cash, Savings, Investing, Instant, and Loans

Account deactivation is not just a button if other Albert financial products are active.

Product What to check before deactivation
Albert Cash Card transactions, account balance, pending deposits, pending transfers
Savings Balance that may need to be moved out
Investing Balance, pending trades, transfer timing
Instant Outstanding advance, draw fee, due date, autopay
Loan Balance owed, autopay, due date
Family Family members tied to the subscription

Albert says automatic payments may continue for balances owed if autopay is on. Save repayment status before deactivation so subscription cancellation is not confused with debt repayment.

Support Contacts

Albert support routes from its Help Center and Cash Account Agreement include:

Route Contact
Text 639-37
Phone 844-891-9309
Email support@albert.com
Browser deactivation https://albert.com/deactivate
App route Profile > Menu > Payments > Help Center > Deactivate or close my accounts

Use the app when possible because it ties the request to the signed-in account. Use text, phone, or email when account access is blocked or a charge posted after cancellation.

If Albert Charges You After Cancellation

Prepare:

Evidence Why it matters
Deactivation confirmation Shows timing
Plan screenshot Shows Standard, Genius, or Family
Charge date and amount Identifies the billing cycle
Account email or phone Helps support locate the account
Support transcript Shows prior request history
Instant or loan balance Explains non-subscription payments

Ask Albert which product generated the charge. A subscription charge, Instant repayment, loan repayment, Cash account transaction, or card transaction can look similar on a statement but follow different support rules.

If a credit card charge still appears to be a billing error after merchant review, the FTC says written billing-error notices generally must reach the card issuer within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent. For Albert Cash card or account errors, follow Albert's Cash Account Agreement timing and support route.

What to Say When You Cancel

Use this script:

"Please deactivate my Albert account and cancel my Albert subscription. My account email or phone is [email/phone]. My current plan appears to be [Standard/Genius/Family], and my next billing date appears to be [date]. Please confirm that future subscription payments are stopped, explain whether any Cash, Savings, Investing, Instant, or loan balance must be handled first, and send written confirmation of the final status."

For a charge after cancellation, add:

"I deactivated or requested cancellation on [date]. A charge for [amount] posted on [date]. Please confirm which Albert product generated this charge and whether any refund, correction, or account-action step applies."
