Order Cancellation, Rescheduling, and Restocking Fees
FreshDirect's FAQ says customers can reschedule or cancel an order before the order cutoff deadline in the confirmation email. Delivery timeslots and deadlines may vary by neighborhood. FreshDirect says it must receive the cancellation before the deadline to prevent the customer from being charged.
For orders canceled after the deadline, FreshDirect says it charges a restocking fee of 100% of the cost of perishable items plus 25% of packaged goods, excluding fees and tax. If the deadline has passed but the customer still cannot accept the order, FreshDirect says to call 212-796-8002.
Use this table:
| Situation |
Complaint focus |
| Need to cancel before cutoff |
Use Your Account and save confirmation |
| Need to reschedule before cutoff |
Use Your Account and save new window |
| Missed cutoff but cannot accept delivery |
Call 212-796-8002 |
| Charged restocking fee |
Provide cutoff, cancellation time, order details |
| Neighborhood cutoff unclear |
Provide confirmation email and support response |
| Cancel request not recorded |
Provide screenshot or support message |
| Delivery window changed |
Provide original and new confirmation emails |
If the deadline passed, the complaint should ask FreshDirect to review the exact timing and explain how the restocking fee was calculated.
Missed Delivery and Redelivery Complaints
FreshDirect's missed-delivery FAQ says customers who may not be home or who miss delivery should call Customer Service at 866-283-7374, option 5. FreshDirect says it will do its best to redeliver later the same day and that a $4.99 redelivery fee may apply. It also says if the customer does not accept delivery that day, FreshDirect may donate or dispose of perishable items and restock boxed and canned groceries.
Use this table:
| Delivery issue |
Evidence |
| Not home for delivery |
Delivery window and call time |
| Missed delivery |
Delivery attempt details and address |
| Redelivery fee dispute |
Support message and charge |
| Building access issue |
Delivery instructions and doorman/neighbor notes |
| Wrong address |
Account address and order confirmation |
| Late delivery |
Delivery window and actual arrival time |
| Perishable item condition |
Photos and delivery time |
If delivery was missed, the strongest complaint shows when the customer called, what support promised, and whether the same-day redelivery happened.
Missing Items, Wrong Products, and Product Returns
FreshDirect's missing-item FAQ says customers should use the Customer Assistance form for order issues so FreshDirect can make it right. If the item still needs to be delivered, FreshDirect says to call 866-283-7374.
FreshDirect's product-return FAQ says that if a customer ordered a product by mistake, they should use the Customer Assistance form. Then, on the next delivery, they can give the product or products to the delivery team member and FreshDirect will credit the account for the cost of the item.
Use this table:
| Product issue |
Evidence |
| Missing item |
Item name, order number, delivery date |
| Need item delivered |
Missing item and urgency |
| Wrong product |
Product ordered and product received |
| Product ordered by mistake |

| Damaged grocery |
Photos, item, delivery date |
| Spoiled fresh item |
Photos, item, delivery date |
| Account credit missing |

For item-level complaints, create a simple list of products with one requested outcome per item: delivery, credit, refund review, or return credit.
Damaged, Spoiled, or Quality Complaints
FreshDirect sells perishable groceries, prepared food, meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, produce, bakery, frozen goods, wine and spirits where available, and household products. A quality complaint should be specific enough for support to identify the item and assess whether credit or refund review is appropriate.
Use this table:
| Quality issue |
Evidence |
| Spoiled produce |
Photos, item name, delivery date |
| Damaged package |
Photos of package and product |
| Warm refrigerated item |
Delivery time, photos, temperature if measured |
| Thawed frozen item |
Photos, delivery time, freezer status |
| Meat or seafood issue |

| Prepared food issue |

If there is a food-safety concern, do not eat questionable products. Contact FreshDirect promptly and keep photos and labels.
DeliveryPass Renewal and Membership Complaints
FreshDirect's DeliveryPass page says DeliveryPass offers unlimited free delivery for 60 days as a trial and auto-renews. It says customers can cancel whenever they like. FreshDirect's DeliveryPass auto-renewal FAQ says customers can opt out at any time from Membership Details by selecting the link to turn off renewal. If auto-renewal is turned off, the current membership continues until the end of its duration and then expires.
Use this table:
| DeliveryPass issue |
Evidence |
| Want to stop auto-renewal |
Membership Details screenshot |
| Renewal charge after opt-out |
Opt-out screenshot and charge date |
| Trial converted to paid membership |

| Membership active after opt-out |
Expiration date and account screen |

DeliveryPass complaints should be separated from grocery-order complaints because the membership may continue even if an individual grocery order is canceled or credited.
Business, Payment, and Account Complaints
FreshDirect's Help page lists a separate line for Business users at 866-283-0026. It also lists 866-283-0013 for Spanish support and says customer service is available every day from 8 AM-11:30 PM.
Use this table:

| Address book issue |
Old and new delivery addresses |
| Payment method update issue |

For payment complaints, do not send card numbers in email. Use order number, last four digits if needed, charge date, and receipt.
Privacy and Data Requests
FreshDirect's Privacy Statement describes rights and choices around personal information and includes additional state privacy rights for certain residents. Privacy requests should be handled separately from open delivery, credit, or billing disputes so records remain available while the issue is reviewed.
Common requests include:

What to include |
| Access request |
Account email, request scope, state |
| Deletion request |
Account email, open orders, DeliveryPass status |
| Correction request |
Current and corrected account details |

| Address correction |
