Cancellation and a People refund are separate

To cancel a People subscription, cancel it where you are billed: in Apple’s Subscriptions settings if Apple charges you, or in Google Play’s Subscriptions screen if Google bills you. Open the relevant subscription list, select People, and use the Cancel option so future renewals stop at the end of the current paid period.
If Apple bills your People subscription, open Settings, tap your name, and tap Subscriptions. Select People from the list, then tap Cancel Subscription and confirm. Apple will show an expiration date, and your People access usually continues until that date, after which Apple stops charging you for that subscription.
If Google Play bills your People subscription, open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, then tap Payments & subscriptions and Subscriptions. Choose People and tap Cancel subscription, following the prompts. Google Play confirms the cancellation and keeps your People access active until the listed renewal date passes.
You usually keep access to People until the end of the current paid period when you cancel through Apple or Google Play. Their help centers explain that cancellations stop future renewals but do not typically cut off access immediately, so you can read until the subscription’s expiration date on that platform.
Cancelling a People subscription through Apple or Google Play does not automatically give you a refund; it mainly stops future renewals. Apple and Google Play each provide separate refund processes and policies, and you must request any credit through those systems, which may or may not approve refunds for prior People charges.
To confirm cancellation, re-open your subscription list on Apple or Google Play and check the People entry. If you see an expiration date and no Cancel button, or a status showing it as cancelled, that subscription will not renew. If People is missing, you might be signed into the wrong Apple or Google account or the subscription may be billed by another provider.
