How to cancel HelloFresh through the correct billing owner
Web cancellation
Cancel HelloFresh through Web
1Open Account Settings
Go to hellofresh.com, click Log in, and sign in to your account. Once you see your name in the upper right-hand corner, select it to open the menu and click Account Settings, which takes you to the page where your plan and billing details are managed.
2Open Plan settings
On the Account Settings page, review the Plan settings section that shows your current plan, including servings, meals per week, and upcoming deliveries. This area also contains your Subscription Status section, where HelloFresh directs you to manage renewals and cancellation.

3Choose Cancel Plan
Scroll down within Plan settings until you reach the Status or Subscription Status area. Here, look for the Cancel Plan or Manage option that HelloFresh references in its cancellation instructions, then select it to open the cancellation flow for your active subscription.
4Complete the reason and confirmation flow
Follow the on‑screen steps to choose a cancellation reason (if asked), review any reminders about cutoff times, and confirm that you want to end your subscription. Continue until HelloFresh displays a message confirming your account has been cancelled; cancellation will take effect after the current locked week, and you remain responsible for any orders already processed.
Mobile app cancellation
Cancel HelloFresh through Mobile app
1Open the mobile app and Account Settings
Launch the HelloFresh app on your phone, sign in if needed, then tap the Profile icon at the bottom right. From the profile area, open your account or settings section, which is where the app exposes options like payment methods and subscription management linked to your HelloFresh account.
2Open Plan settings
Within the account area of the app, navigate to the screen that shows your current plan details (meals per week, servings, and upcoming deliveries). This view usually mirrors the Plan settings page on the website and is the place where HelloFresh surfaces your subscription status and plan controls.

3Choose Cancel Plan
Scroll through your plan details until you see the section showing your subscription status. Look for a control such as Cancel Plan or Manage, which corresponds to the cancellation options documented for the web experience, and tap it to open the in‑app cancellation prompts for your subscription.
4Complete the reason and confirmation flow
Work through the in‑app questions about why you’re leaving (if shown) and continue until you reach the final confirmation screen. Verify that the app confirms your plan is cancelled and note that, per HelloFresh’s terms, cancellation after the My Menu cutoff still allows the current locked box to ship while stopping renewals for later weeks.
Refund policy
HelloFresh refunds, credits, and what cancellation covers
HelloFresh separates subscription cancellation from refunds for specific boxes or ingredients. Cancelling mainly affects future renewals; quality issues and promotional balances follow their own rules outlined in the Terms and FAQs.
Check my refund options- Cancellation doesn’t refund the current week
- HelloFresh’s Terms explain that you are not entitled to a prorated refund for the then‑current subscription week. If you cancel after your My Menu cutoff, the processed box for that week will still be delivered and charged, and cancellation applies only to later weeks.
- Order or ingredient problems handled separately
- For issues like damaged ingredients or missing items, HelloFresh directs customers to contact support within five days of receiving the item. At its sole discretion, the company may issue a credit or a partial or full refund for affected ingredients or Meal Kits.
- How refunds are issued and timing
- The Payment & Billing FAQ states that, when HelloFresh issues a refund, it is returned to the original form of payment and can take around 5–10 business days to fully process back to your account, depending on your financial institution.
- Deadlines for changes that affect billing
- HelloFresh reiterates that most account changes that influence charges—such as payment updates or plan changes—must be made at least five days before your next scheduled delivery. Changes closer to delivery may show in your account but won’t alter the already processed box.
- Refund treatment of HelloFresh Cash and promotions
- HelloFresh Cash funds are non-cash balances; promotional portions may be expired or withdrawn when your account is cancelled, and are not described as refundable. Gift Cards and many vouchers are also non-refundable and can’t usually be redeemed for cash even if you cancel.
If you believe you’re entitled to a refund or credit for a specific box, ingredient, or charge after cancelling, gather your order details and contact HelloFresh Customer Care using the channels listed in the Terms and Payment & Billing FAQ so they can review your case under the current policies. Timing & renewals
When HelloFresh cancellation takes effect
HelloFresh runs on an automatic weekly subscription. Understanding how billing and cutoff times work is essential so you know which boxes will still arrive after you cancel.
Weekly auto-renewing subscription
HelloFresh operates as an automatic weekly subscription service: after your initial order, your plan renews each week and new Meal Boxes generate recurring charges until you cancel.
Cutoff shown on My Menu
The deadline to cancel or edit a box is shown on your My Menu page. HelloFresh explains that changes, including cancellation, must be made before the day and time listed there to affect that week’s delivery.
Typical 5‑day, 11:59 pm PT rule
HelloFresh gives an example that if your box is scheduled for Tuesday, you have until the previous Thursday at 11:59 pm Pacific Time—five days before—to cancel or change that order before it locks.
Effect of cancelling after cutoff
If you cancel after the My Menu cutoff, HelloFresh states that you will still be charged for and receive the already processed Meal Box for that week, and your cancellation will only take effect for subsequent delivery weeks.
No prorated refunds for current week
The Terms specify that you are not eligible for a prorated refund of any portion of the subscription fee for the then‑current subscription week; cancelling stops renewal only after that week ends.
Alternatives
Pausing weeks versus cancelling your plan
HelloFresh supports flexible pausing and skipping, which are different from fully cancelling your subscription. Knowing the difference helps you choose the right option for your situation.
Skipping weeks from My Menu
HelloFresh’s cancellation guide explains that you can pause your subscription by logging in, opening My Menu, selecting the delivery day for a week, and using the Skip Week option to stop that specific box while keeping the subscription active.
Pausing is week-specific
The Terms clarify that pausing a delivery applies only to the week you pause, that you won’t be charged for that paused week, and that automatic deliveries resume the following week unless you also pause that week.
Pause and skip still follow the cutoff
HelloFresh notes that pausing or skipping is subject to the same rolling cutoff as cancellation: you must act before the lock time shown for that week, often five days before delivery at 11:59 pm PT, or the order will still be processed.
When to choose cancel instead of pause
Marketing and FAQ pages emphasize that you can pause, skip, or cancel anytime. If you no longer want recurring weekly boxes at all, using Cancel Plan in Account Settings ensures the subscription stops renewing rather than simply skipping a few weeks.
Existing boxes & extras
How cancellation affects orders and add-ons
A HelloFresh cancellation mainly changes future renewals. Boxes and add-ons that have already passed the cutoff are still treated as active orders and follow separate quality and refund rules.
Locked orders still ship
Once the lock deadline on your My Menu page has passed, HelloFresh treats that week’s box as processed. Even if you cancel afterwards, the Terms explain that you’ll still receive and be charged for that processed Meal Box.
Market items ride with your box
HelloFresh Market items—extra meals, sides, snacks, and similar products—are added to your weekly delivery and arrive in the same box, as described on the Market page. Cancelling after the cutoff therefore also leaves those add-ons in the processed order.
Extras and upgrades billed separately
The Payment & Billing FAQ notes that premium picks, customizations, and Market treats appear as additional surcharges on your order. These extras are part of the week’s total charge and are not automatically reversed just because you cancel after the lock date.
Changing an upcoming box instead of cancelling
Before the cutoff, you can modify a future box instead of cancelling—changing meals on My Menu, adjusting plan size in Account Settings, or adding and removing Market items—so long as you act before the time listed for that week.
Viewing charges after cancellation
Even after you cancel, you can log into Account Settings and use the Payment History or Order History sections described in the FAQ to review invoices for past and final processed boxes.
Account & privacy
Subscription cancellation, account access, and data
Cancelling HelloFresh stops deliveries but does not automatically erase your online account or all stored data. Account deactivation and data handling are covered separately in HelloFresh’s Terms and Privacy Policy.
Cancellation vs. account deactivation
The Terms describe cancelling the Service as ending your subscription’s auto‑renewal, and note you can re‑subscribe later unless HelloFresh ends your access. The Privacy Policy separately explains that you may deactivate your account pursuant to the Terms, which is distinct from cancelling weekly deliveries.
Account typically remains usable
Because you can reactivate your subscription or apply new promotions after cancelling, HelloFresh’s materials assume your online account usually remains accessible unless HelloFresh terminates it for cause.
Data retention after you cancel
The Privacy Policy says HelloFresh generally keeps personal information as long as needed for the purposes it was collected, and may retain it further to meet legal, accounting, reporting, or fraud-prevention requirements even after account deactivation or cancellation.
Updating info or marketing settings without cancelling
Instead of cancelling, you can update contact details, change marketing preferences, or adjust how your data is used through your account page, email, or phone options outlined under Your Choices in the Privacy Policy.
Impact of service termination by HelloFresh
If HelloFresh terminates your access for reasons like non-payment or Terms violations, the company notes that termination may include deletion of your password and related account information from live systems, with no obligation to refund fees.
Credits & offers
HelloFresh Cash, discounts, and offers after cancellation
HelloFresh treats stored-value balances and promotions differently from ordinary subscription payments. Cancelling your plan can affect promotional HelloFresh Cash and ongoing offers tied to an active subscription.
HelloFresh Cash funds
Terms for HelloFresh Cash explain that promotional or compensation balances are non-cash, can be used only on your account, and may be expired or withdrawn when your account is cancelled, subject to applicable law.
Gift cards and voucher codes
Gift Card Terms state that HelloFresh Gift Cards and certain voucher codes are non-refundable and generally cannot be redeemed for cash; remaining balances stay on your HelloFresh account and do not expire, rather than being paid out if you cancel.
Promotions requiring an active subscription
Footnotes on offer pages explain that some benefits, such as “Free Breakfast for Life,” are limited to one free item per box while your subscription is active and become invalid if the subscription is cancelled, without being reinstated on reactivation.
Coupons when opening or reactivating a plan
The promotions page notes that some coupons can only be applied when opening a new subscription or reactivating a cancelled one, and must be entered during checkout or reactivation rather than after you cancel.
Where to see current discounts on your plan
HelloFresh instructs you to log into your account and open Plan Settings to see whether a promotional discount is currently active on your subscription and how it affects your weekly price breakdown.
If something breaks
Troubleshooting a missing Cancel Plan option
If your HelloFresh screen doesn’t match the standard path to Cancel Plan, you can still rely on the official cutoff rules and Customer Care routes documented in HelloFresh’s own materials.
Start from HelloFresh’s own cancellation page
HelloFresh’s coupon and promotions FAQ links directly to its How to Cancel a HelloFresh Subscription page. If you’re unsure where to click, open that guide while signed in and use it as your reference for finding Account Settings and Plan settings.
Confirm you’re logged into the correct account
Official instructions assume you are logged in before cancelling. If you only see a marketing homepage or signup offer, use the Log in button first, then open Account Settings from your name in the upper right before looking for Plan settings and cancellation options.
Use My Menu to understand what’s already locked
If My Menu shows that the change deadline for an upcoming box has passed, HelloFresh explains that the order has already been processed. Cancellation at that point will not stop that week’s box but will still prevent further renewals.
Fallback: cancel via Customer Care
The Terms state that you may cancel by contacting Customer Care, including through the contact-us form or by email, providing your full name and registered email address and clearly stating you wish to terminate your subscription. This route is useful if you cannot see Cancel Plan online.
Use the Help Center if the interface looks different
If your signed-in interface doesn’t match these paths—for example, due to app updates or design tests—you can open the Help Center from the footer and search or navigate to Account Management, then use the Contact Us option presented there for assistance cancelling.
