How to cancel Blue Apron through the correct billing owner
Web cancellation
Cancel Blue Apron through Web
1Open the subscription account
In a web browser, go to blueapron.com and click Sign In. Enter the email address and password for the Blue Apron account that is currently receiving Subscribe & Save deliveries, then confirm that your upcoming orders and account name match the subscription you intend to cancel.
2Open Plan Settings or the subscription page
From the signed‑in site, open the main navigation and select Account, then click the Subscribe & Save option. This page is where Blue Apron lets you view and adjust subscription details such as delivery frequency and meal preferences, and it is the starting point for cancelling your recurring plan.

3Choose the online cancellation option
On the Subscribe & Save page, review the subscription settings and look for the control that lets you cancel, turn off, or end your Subscribe & Save plan. Because button labels may change, follow the on‑screen instructions wherever Blue Apron presents the option to stop automatic deliveries, and continue until the page shows that your Subscribe & Save plan has been cancelled.
4Confirm before the next billing or order cutoff
After cancelling, go to the Orders or Menu section, open each upcoming order, and check its status. Make sure future Subscribe & Save boxes are either skipped or no longer scheduled before the change deadline displayed beneath each delivery date. Any autoship order that already appears as Processing or Shipped in your Upcoming or Orders view can’t be cancelled online and will still be billed and delivered.
Mobile app cancellation
Cancel Blue Apron through Mobile app
1Open the mobile app and the subscription account
Install and open the Blue Apron app on your iOS or Android device, then sign in with the same email address and password you use on the website. Confirm that the upcoming deliveries and profile details shown in the app match the subscription you want to cancel.
2Open Plan Settings or the subscription page
From the app’s main screen, open the Account area (this may appear as an Account tab or profile icon) and select the Subscribe & Save section. This screen summarizes your current delivery schedule and subscription options and is where Blue Apron directs you to manage recurring Subscribe & Save settings.

3Choose the online cancellation option
Within the Subscribe & Save settings in the app, scroll until you find the option to cancel, turn off, or otherwise stop automatic Subscribe & Save deliveries. Because in‑app labels can change, follow the prompts wherever the app presents a way to cancel your subscription, and continue until the subscription status reflects that Subscribe & Save has been cancelled.
4Confirm before the next billing or order cutoff
Tap Orders in the app, then open each upcoming order and tap Manage Order to review how it will be handled. Ensure future boxes you no longer want are skipped or removed before the change deadline shown under each delivery date. Orders that already appear as Processing or Shipped in the app can’t be cancelled online and will still be charged and delivered.
Refund policy
Refunds, replacements, and promotional credits
Blue Apron distinguishes between cancelling future subscription charges and seeking a remedy for specific boxes or meals. Orders already in Processing or Shipped status can’t be cancelled online, but Blue Apron may, at its discretion, resolve quality or delivery issues with replacements, refunds, or Credits when you contact them promptly.
Check my refund options- Autoship orders in Processing or Shipped can’t be cancelled
- Blue Apron’s Terms state that any Autoship order identified as Processing or Shipped on your Upcoming page cannot be cancelled, and you remain responsible for all associated charges even if you cancel your subscription after the order reaches that status.
- Requesting help with a problem order
- If you are dissatisfied with a meal or meal ingredient for any reason, Blue Apron instructs customers in its Terms to contact them within seven days of receiving the meal. Depending on circumstances, they may choose to replace the item, issue a full or partial refund, or provide Credits for future qualifying deliveries.
- Nature of Credits and how they work
- Credits issued under Blue Apron’s Terms are promotional in nature, not cash, and may be limited to specific types of products or meal purchases. Some Credits may require additional action such as a coupon code to apply, and they generally apply automatically to future eligible deliveries when conditions are met.
- Credits expire if you cancel your account
- The Terms explain that Credits remain available only while you maintain a valid Blue Apron account. If you cancel your Blue Apron account (distinct from cancelling a subscription), any outstanding Credits associated with that account immediately expire and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- Service‑issue Credits
- In addition to dissatisfaction with specific items, Blue Apron notes that it may grant customer‑experience Credits in certain situations such as delayed deliveries or other service issues. These Credits are also promotional, subject to expiration, and governed by the same general rules outlined in the Terms.

Plan types
Subscribe & Save meal plans vs. Blue Apron+
Blue Apron now separates your recurring meal subscription from its optional Blue Apron+ membership. Understanding which you have helps you cancel the right thing.
What Subscribe & Save controls
Subscribe & Save is Blue Apron’s recurring meal delivery service. It automatically sends boxes on a schedule you choose and replaces the company’s legacy subscription model, using your Subscribe & Save settings for frequency and meal preferences.
What Blue Apron+ controls
Blue Apron+ is an add‑on membership that provides benefits like free shipping on eligible orders and access to partner content such as Tastemade+, but it does not itself send boxes automatically. You manage it separately from Subscribe & Save in your account.
Managing both at once
According to Blue Apron’s New FAQs, Subscribe & Save and Blue Apron+ are different products and you can be enrolled in both. Cancelling your meal subscription does not automatically cancel Blue Apron+, and canceling Blue Apron+ does not stop Subscribe & Save deliveries.
Where plan details live
Plan and membership terms for Subscribe & Save and Blue Apron+ are defined in Blue Apron’s Terms & Conditions and in the Subscribe & Save and Blue Apron+ information and FAQ pages linked from the site navigation and the New Blue Apron FAQ article.
Effects
What cancelling Blue Apron actually changes
Cancelling affects only specific pieces of your relationship with Blue Apron. Other services and one‑off orders continue unless you stop them separately.
End of continuous subscription charges
Blue Apron’s Terms state that Subscribe & Save (an Autoship subscription) and Blue Apron+ are continuous subscriptions that keep charging your saved payment method on a recurring schedule until you cancel. Turning off Subscribe & Save stops new autoship orders after any that are already processing or shipped.
Existing autoship orders may still arrive
Blue Apron explains that any Autoship order identified as Processing or Shipped in your Upcoming or Orders view cannot be cancelled. You remain responsible for all charges associated with those orders even if you cancel your subscription afterward.
Account access usually remains
Cancelling your Subscribe & Save or Blue Apron+ subscription does not, by itself, close your Blue Apron account. You can still sign in to see past orders and recipes and to place new non‑subscription orders unless you separately ask to cancel your account entirely.
One‑off orders without a subscription
The redesigned Blue Apron site highlights that you can buy from a menu of more than 100 meals with “No Subscription Needed.” After cancelling Subscribe & Save, you may continue to place individual orders as desired, subject to standard pricing and availability.
Scheduling
Skipping or rescheduling instead of cancelling
Blue Apron lets you skip or reschedule many upcoming deliveries without cancelling your entire subscription. These tools live alongside your subscription settings.
Skipping a single Subscribe & Save order
Blue Apron’s New FAQs describe skipping as opening Orders, selecting the order you want to skip, choosing Manage Order, and then selecting Skip, with a confirmation step. You can do this in both the app and on desktop as long as you act before the change deadline under the delivery date.
Rescheduling a delivery
To reschedule, Blue Apron instructs you to go to the Menu page, select the order, then use Manage Order in the order summary to choose a different delivery day, update the address, or change the payment method. All changes must be made by the date shown below the scheduled delivery date.
No long‑term Pause feature
Blue Apron’s FAQ notes that it no longer offers a Pause feature for Subscribe & Save. Instead, you can skip as many Subscribe & Save orders as you like with no stated limit, or cancel Subscribe & Save entirely and re‑enroll later with your settings preserved.
When cancelling is better than skipping
If you consistently skip boxes or want to stop being billed for autoship orders altogether, Blue Apron’s Terms and FAQs allow you to cancel your subscription online at any time. Cancelling prevents new recurring orders from being created so you don’t have to manage week‑to‑week skips.
Deadlines
Order status, change deadlines, and cutoffs
Blue Apron doesn’t publish a universal numeric cutoff, but it does show order‑specific deadlines and statuses in your account that control whether changes are still possible.
Change deadline under each delivery date
Blue Apron’s New FAQs instruct you to “make all changes by the date below your scheduled delivery date” when rescheduling orders. This date, visible in your online account or app, represents the change deadline for that specific delivery.
Upcoming vs. Processing vs. Shipped
In its Terms, Blue Apron explains that Autoship orders that appear as Processing or Shipped in your Upcoming page cannot be cancelled. You will be responsible for the charges on any order that has already reached those statuses, even if you cancel your subscription afterward.
What can be changed before the deadline
Before an order reaches Processing, and before the change deadline displayed below the delivery date, you can typically skip the order, reschedule it, or adjust items, using the Manage Order controls described in Blue Apron’s FAQ article.
No published “Changeable by” timeframe
Public Blue Apron pages do not specify a fixed number of days or hours before delivery when the cutoff occurs. Instead, the company directs customers to rely on the specific date shown in the account for each order as the authoritative deadline for changes or cancellation attempts.
Account
Account, data, recipes, and credits after cancelling
Cancelling a subscription is different from closing your Blue Apron account, and it has specific effects on stored data, saved recipes, and promotional credits.
Subscription cancellation vs. account closure
Blue Apron’s Terms discuss cancelling subscriptions and, separately, cancelling your Blue Apron account. Subscription cancellation stops recurring charges, while cancelling your account can have additional effects, such as immediately expiring any promotional credits associated with that account.
What happens to promotional credits
Credits issued for customer service issues or order problems are described as promotional, non‑cash, and tied to specific product types. The Terms state that these Credits are only available while you maintain a valid Blue Apron account and will immediately expire if you cancel that account.
Order history and subscription records
Blue Apron’s Privacy Policy says it keeps information about your subscriptions, purchases, returns, refunds, cancellations, and interactions with customer support as part of its transaction and subscription data. It does not publicly state a fixed retention period for this information.
Saved recipes and recipe access
In the New Blue Apron FAQ, the company notes that some previously saved recipes might not appear in the updated app experience. If you remember a recipe title, customer experience (CX) can search Blue Apron’s archives and send you a PDF copy upon request.
Products
Add‑ons, Dish meals, and other products when cancelling
Blue Apron offers add‑ons and multiple product lines that can be attached to your orders. Cancelling Subscribe & Save affects only the autoship logic, not every possible purchase type.
Add‑ons attached to upcoming orders
Blue Apron’s recipe and add‑on materials show that add‑ons are tied to specific deliveries. If you skip or cancel an upcoming autoship order before it begins Processing, associated add‑ons for that delivery typically do not ship because the entire order is changed or skipped.
Dish by Blue Apron and other lines
Blue Apron’s blog describes additional product lines like Dish by Blue Apron (pre‑made meals) and Assemble & Bake meals. These products can be included in your orders, but they are still governed by the same order status and cutoff rules as other autoship items in your subscription.
Non‑subscription purchases after cancelling
Blue Apron’s current site emphasizes that you can shop more than 100 meals with “No Subscription Needed.” This means that even after cancelling Subscribe & Save, you can place one‑off orders that may include add‑ons, Dish meals, or other products, subject to current availability.
Gift cards and subscriptions
Blue Apron’s Gift Card Terms explain that gift cards can be used toward eligible purchases but point back to the main Terms for subscription cancellation policies. Cancelling a subscription does not automatically refund or convert any remaining gift card balance.
Help
If you can’t find a cancel option
Interface labels can change, and some instructions live in Blue Apron’s Help Center. These steps help you troubleshoot when you can’t see a clear cancellation control.
Check you’re on the right account and page
First confirm that you’re signed in to the account that actually has the active subscription by checking the Orders or Upcoming view for current deliveries. Then make sure you’ve navigated specifically to Account → Subscribe & Save, where Blue Apron directs customers to manage recurring settings.
Try the desktop site if the app seems limited
Because some support content is hosted outside blueapron.com and some controls may be easier to see on a larger screen, Blue Apron’s navigation often points from the app to Account sections that also exist on desktop. If you don’t see cancellation options in the app, repeat the steps on the web version.
Consider third‑party purchases
Blue Apron’s Terms distinguish Blue Apron‑billed subscriptions from “Third Party Purchases,” which are billed and charged under separate third‑party terms. If your bank statement shows another retailer or marketplace as the biller, cancellation may have to be completed through that provider instead of directly in your Blue Apron account.
Use the official cancellations email or Help Center
Blue Apron’s Terms state that you may cancel any Blue Apron subscription by emailing the published cancellations address and following the instructions in the response, or by contacting customer support. Links to the Help Center & FAQ appear in the Support & Services section of Blue Apron’s site and blog footer.
Options
Alternatives to cancelling your subscription
If you still want occasional Blue Apron boxes but with more control, the platform offers several alternatives to full cancellation that may suit your needs better.
Adjust Subscribe & Save frequency
Blue Apron’s New FAQs explain that you can set Subscribe & Save deliveries to occur every week, every 2, 3, or 4 weeks, and adjust these settings from Account → Subscribe & Save. Lowering the frequency reduces how often boxes are created without fully cancelling your subscription.
Skip upcoming boxes as needed
Instead of cancelling outright, you can open Orders, choose a specific order, and use Manage Order → Skip (with a confirmation) to avoid unwanted deliveries while leaving your subscription structure in place. There is no stated limit on how many individual orders you can skip.
Cancel Blue Apron+ but keep Subscribe & Save
If your main concern is the membership rather than the meals, you can manage Blue Apron+ benefits separately from meal subscriptions via the Blue Apron+ link in the site header. Cancelling Blue Apron+ stops its membership benefits while leaving Subscribe & Save active.
Use Blue Apron only for on‑demand orders
Because the revamped site allows you to shop with “No Subscription Needed,” another option is to cancel Subscribe & Save and use Blue Apron only for occasional one‑off purchases, adding meals or add‑ons to your cart when they fit your schedule and budget.
