Hightail Cancellation Help

If you purchased your Hightail Pro, Teams, or Business plan directly from Hightail/OpenText, sign in at spaces.hightail.com, click your account avatar, go to Manage in the billing details area, and select Cancel Plan, then follow the prompts. Your paid features remain available until the end of your current billing cycle, after which your account is downgraded to the free Lite plan.

Hightail’s terms state that when a user downgrades from a paid plan to the free Lite plan, any files set to expire more than seven days out are changed to expire seven days from the downgrade, and after 30 days all but the most recent 2 GB of user files are permanently deleted and cannot be retrieved. Because canceling a paid subscription through Cancel Plan leads to a downgrade to Lite at the end of the billing cycle, these Lite limits and deletion rules then apply to your account.

The Hightail iOS App Store page lists Pro Monthly and Pro Yearly as in‑app purchases, which Apple treats as subscriptions managed under your Apple ID. If you see Hightail under Settings › [Your Name] › Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad, then Apple is billing that subscription and you must cancel it there. If Hightail does not appear under Apple Subscriptions and you instead see Hightail charges on a bank or card statement without an Apple receipt, Apple advises that the subscription may be billed by a different company, in which case you should cancel directly through your Hightail account or contact Hightail/OpenText support.

Apple’s policies state that subscriptions purchased from Apple or through apps on the App Store must be managed in your Apple account settings, and if you cannot find a receipt from Apple, you may have bought the subscription from another company. This means Hightail support cannot directly cancel a Hightail subscription that is billed by Apple; you must cancel it through Apple’s Subscriptions settings using the steps in Apple’s support article.
