Refund policy

USA Today refunds, access, and charge follow-up

USA TODAY says payments are non-refundable and unused portions of a canceled billing cycle do not receive refunds or credits, subject to its discretion and applicable law.

Check my refund options
No standard unused-period refund
The Help Center says there are no refunds or credits for the unused portion after a mid-cycle cancellation.
Discretionary exceptions are possible
USA TODAY reserves discretion to issue a refund or credit without creating a promise for later cases.
A delivery issue is not cancellation
Report missed papers separately; resolving a delivery problem does not turn off the subscription.

If the online control is unavailable, use the Customer Service details currently published on the USA TODAY Help Center. Open USA TODAY Help Center

Online eligibility

USA TODAY cancellation method depends on residence

Do not promise the same self-service control to every subscriber.

  • Seven states have an online route

USA TODAY lists California, Georgia, Maine, New York, Oregon, Vermont, and Virginia as eligible for online cancellation after sign-in.

  • Other subscribers use Customer Service

The Help Center directs other subscribers to Customer Service. Re-check the official help page for current hours and phone details.

  • Use the subscription account

Account Management must be opened with the identity tied to the paid subscription, especially when a household shares digital access.

Print delivery

Canceling is different from stopping delivery temporarily

Print subscribers may want a vacation hold rather than a permanent cancellation.

  • Vacation holds are temporary

USA TODAY says a temporary delivery hold can be scheduled through Account Management, chat, or Customer Service and can last up to 30 days through the automated system.

  • Digital access continues during a delivery hold

The Help Center says the digital portion continues while print delivery is temporarily held.

  • Newsletter unsubscribe is separate

Email and newsletter preferences do not cancel the paid news subscription.
