Confirm the billing owner before canceling
- You can cancel a paid Patreon membership from your account’s Settings → Memberships page on web or in the Patreon app. If your membership was started as an iOS in‑app purchase or Google Play subscription, ongoing billing is controlled by Apple or Google and must be stopped in your device’s subscription settings, not by deleting the Patreon app.
- Memberships started on Patreon web or the Android app are billed by Patreon and can be canceled in Patreon Settings. Memberships or digital products purchased as iOS in‑app purchases use Apple’s billing system, and similar in‑app purchases on Android may use Google Play billing; Patreon cannot directly stop or refund store-managed renewals and will redirect you to the relevant platform for those charges.
- Patreon generally does not guarantee refunds when you cancel, but it offers structured options to request them. Standard membership charges can often be reviewed through your Billing history, while legacy per‑creation charges and iOS in‑app purchases have special handling. Refund decisions consider delivery of benefits and the platform’s Refund Policy.
Keep enough proof for a focused follow-up
- Save the confirmation, effective date, and billing receipt.
- Capture the plan, renewal date, and company shown on the receipt.
- Challenge only a specific unresolved charge or cancellation result.
Patreon support channels
Know which channel fits before you spend time repeating the same story.
Web
Use Patreon’s website (desktop or mobile browser) to cancel most memberships billed directly by Patreon. This flow matches Patreon’s official “Canceling a paid membership” guide and works whether you support a single creator or many.
iOS
If you started a Patreon membership or bought a digital product as an iOS in‑app purchase, Apple’s App Store handles renewal, cancellation, and many refunds. Stopping those charges requires using your iPhone or iPad subscription settings; deleting the Patreon app does not cancel billing.
Google Play
Some Patreon payments made through the Android app may be billed via Google Play’s subscription system rather than directly through Patreon. Those recurring charges must be canceled in the Google Play Store subscription settings for the Google account that’s being billed.
How Pine helps with Patreon
A practical workflow for moving from a messy support problem to a clear request.
Step 01
Open Settings
Go to patreon.com in a browser and log in. If you also have a creator profile, click your profile image and switch to your member profile first. In the left-hand navigation, select the Settings option (gear icon) so you’re viewing your personal account settings, not creator tools.
Step 02
Open Memberships
In Settings, open the Memberships tab. This page lists your active creator memberships tied to this Patreon account. Confirm that the creator you want to stop supporting appears here with the correct tier and billing amount before changing anything.
Step 03
Choose the creator membership
On the Memberships tab, find the specific creator you want to cancel. Click the View details button for that creator to open a detailed view of your membership, including tier information, billing model, next billing date, and any free membership option that may be available.
Step 04
Select Edit or Cancel membership and confirm
In the membership details, choose the option to Cancel membership (wording may appear as an Edit or Cancel action near your tier). When prompted, confirm that you want to stop future payments. On the next screen, choose whether to remain a free member or turn that off, then select Save and continue. If an exit survey appears, you can optionally submit feedback before returning to the Memberships page, where the creator should no longer appear under Active memberships.
