Patreon allows you to cancel a paid membership at any time from your account’s Settings → Memberships page or using the Edit my membership option in the app. After you cancel, the creator is removed from your Active memberships list, and whether you keep access until your next billing date depends on the creator’s billing model for that membership.

It depends on how the creator bills. Patreon explains that canceling a monthly (non‑charge‑upfront) or per‑creation membership can cause you to lose access when you cancel, while canceling a charge‑upfront or subscription-billing membership usually lets you keep access until your next billing date. Your Billing history and the creator’s billing model determine what happens in your case.

After canceling, check Settings → Memberships on web: the creator should no longer appear under Active memberships. Patreon’s cancellation reference also notes that your Billing history is the source of truth for processed payments. If a creator no longer shows in Active memberships and no future payments are scheduled, that membership is considered cancelled.

Canceling a membership only affects that specific creator relationship and its future payments; it does not automatically delete your Patreon account or Billing history. If a Patreon payment was made as an iOS in‑app purchase, Patreon notes that Apple handles key billing and refunds, so you must manage that subscription in your Apple ID’s Subscriptions settings and use Apple’s refund flow. Similar in‑app purchases on Android may appear as Google Play subscriptions, which you cancel from the Google Play Store’s Subscriptions section, not from Patreon’s Billing history.
