SonyLIV Cancellation Help

To deactivate your SonyLIV subscription, you must cancel it with the service that bills you, not inside the SonyLIV app. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose SonyLIV, and tap Cancel Subscription. On Android, open Google Play, go to Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions, select SonyLIV, and tap Cancel subscription. If you subscribed via a bundle like JioTV or OTTplay, cancel through that provider’s account or support portal.

To stop AutoPay for SonyLIV, you must turn off the underlying subscription with Apple, Google Play, or any bundle provider; there is no documented in‑app toggle that overrides the billing platform. Apple requires you to cancel from Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions, while Google Play requires cancelling from the Subscriptions screen. Simply uninstalling SonyLIV or logging out will not stop future charges.

You can cancel SonyLIV online by using the web or app tools of the platform that bills you. For Apple, sign in to your Apple account on the web or use Settings on your device to open Subscriptions and cancel SonyLIV there. For Google Play, go to subscriptions on Google Play in a browser or the Play Store app, select SonyLIV, and click or tap Cancel subscription. For website‑ or bundle‑billed plans, use that provider’s online account portal.

On a Sony smart TV, the SonyLIV app itself usually does not control billing, so you cancel the subscription where you first signed up. If you subscribed through Google Play on an Android TV, open Google Play on a phone or browser, go to Subscriptions, select SonyLIV, and cancel there. If SonyLIV comes through a cable, DTH, or OTT bundle, use that provider’s account or support options to cancel; removing the TV app alone will not stop billing.

You can tell who bills your SonyLIV subscription by checking receipts and subscription lists. Apple suggests searching your email for "receipt from Apple" and then checking Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions for SonyLIV. Google advises going to Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions in Google Play to see which apps, such as SonyLIV, are billed there. If SonyLIV appears in neither place, you probably subscribed through another provider or bundle.

If your SonyLIV subscription is billed through Google Play, Google states that you can continue using the subscription for the time you’ve already paid, even after you cancel, and then access ends at the end of that period. Apple’s subscription screen will show an expiration date when you cancel, and you normally keep access until that date. For direct SonyLIV or bundle‑billed plans, continued access is controlled by that provider’s terms.

You may be able to get a refund after cancelling SonyLIV, but only through the platform that billed you and subject to its rules. Apple lets you request refunds for some App Store purchases, including subscriptions, via reportaproblem.apple.com, after which Apple decides on eligibility. Google Play says past subscription periods generally can’t be refunded except under its refund policies, though you can still submit a refund request. Website‑ or bundle‑billed SonyLIV refunds depend on those providers’ policies.

If SonyLIV does not appear in Apple or Google Play subscriptions, it is probably billed through another Apple ID, Google Account, or an external provider. Apple suggests checking for receipts on different Apple IDs and notes that if no Apple receipt exists, the subscription was likely sold elsewhere. Google Play help and community posts explain that some apps don’t use Play’s subscription system; in that case, you must cancel using the app developer’s or provider’s own process.

Deleting the SonyLIV app does not cancel your subscription. Google Play explicitly warns that uninstalling an app won’t cancel its subscription, and charges continue until you cancel through the Subscriptions section. Apple similarly requires you to manage subscriptions from your Apple ID settings rather than by removing apps. Always cancel SonyLIV from the billing platform’s subscription tools before uninstalling the app if you want charges to stop.
