After you cancel, Nitro or Nitro Basic stays active until the end of the current billing period, so you keep higher upload limits, HD streaming, custom emoji and other perks until that date. Once the period ends, your account reverts to the free tier, and the Subscriptions or Manage Nitro screen will no longer show Nitro as actively renewing.

Canceling Nitro stops only that Nitro or Nitro Basic plan. The two included Server Boosts tied to Nitro will fall off when Nitro ends, which can reduce a server’s boost level or perks. However, any separate Server Boost subscriptions, server subscriptions, or Premium App subscriptions continue billing until you cancel each one through their own subscription controls.

You may be able to get a refund for a Nitro charge billed by Discord if the purchase meets the conditions in the Refund Policy, including contacting Billing Support within the specified number of days from initial purchase and not having already used your one Nitro refund for that category. For iOS purchases, refunds must be requested from Apple instead.

If your Nitro was purchased via iOS, you must cancel it from your Apple ID’s subscription settings, not inside Discord. Open the Apple Settings app, tap your name, go to Subscriptions, select the Discord Nitro entry, and use Apple’s cancellation option. Discord’s iOS purchases FAQ notes that these subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple and cannot be canceled by Discord Support.

For Nitro billed through Google Play, open the Discord app, go to User Settings > Nitro settings > Manage Subscriptions, and tap Cancel to be redirected to Google Play. In Google Play’s subscription screen for Discord Nitro, use Cancel subscription and confirm. When you return to Discord, the Manage Subscriptions tab will show the Nitro plan as canceled and list its end date.

If you cannot access your Discord account but need a Discord‑billed Nitro subscription canceled, Discord’s Nitro cancellation guide instructs you to contact the Billing Support team using the email address tied to that account and request cancellation. For Nitro purchased through Apple, Discord cannot cancel on your behalf, so you must work directly with Apple’s support instead.

Nitro itself shows your support through a Nitro badge, while Server Boosts have their own boosting badge and streak. Discord’s Server Boosting FAQ explains that you can lose your boosting streak if your Nitro with its included boosts or your separate Boost subscription ends. Google Play billing documentation also notes that switching platforms or canceling desktop Nitro after a delay can affect streaks.

Discord’s Nitro overview notes that existing Nitro Classic subscribers can keep their plan but that Classic is no longer offered to new subscribers. If you cancel a Nitro Classic subscription and let it end, you cannot newly subscribe to Classic again; you would instead need to choose Nitro or Nitro Basic, or use any stored Classic credits if you still qualify to redeem them.
